on top end how fast does a stock one go?

 

stock gearing and tires i think is in the 60-70mph at the most. its geared pretty short stock.

i know the 85s & up are faster but i road my buds 84 250R.......will that was bored like 60 over and piped that thing was mad fast. i loved it. now im on my way to selling my scrambler and geting eather a 350X or 250R what ever one i can find frist.

 

Not sure what stock was. Mine was clocked roughly around 80-82. That's with being bored .50 over, K&N, Fatty pipe, Answer silencer, Boysen power reeds, Maxxis on Douglas rims and I dropped a tooth in the front sprocket. I'm putting on a 39 mm Air stryker carb and can't wait for the performance boost. Specs on the Raptor and YFZ 450 claim they'll top out around 75. I've eaten those up from start to finish! Long live the ATC 250r!!!

people have to remember that speed is limited by gearing and the power to pull that gearing but nothing pass what the gearing limits which is mathmatically impossible to change unless you can increase your RPM range. and the 250r isnt exactly a powerhouse stock or geared that long either. gearing is actually what makes the R so quick because short gearing multiplies torque but limits top end. when i put stock tires and stock gearing on my far from stock R i doubt i can even hit 70mph because of those limits.

I own a pretty tricked out banshee and I know my pretty much stock 85 250R won't out run it but it sure does feel fast. My buddies say it lookes like a rocket going through the gears. I just think ATC's are the coolests machines ever built.
