350x top speed and all hondas

I'm presently puchasing parts for my 85 350X. Does anyone know if the rear axle hubs, that attach to the wheels, are the same on the 85 & 86 models? Also, are they the same as the ones on the 85 & 86 250R models?

I had a 350X for years, and mine did about 63 miles an hour with 25" dirt dogs on it. So I believe you. What you lose in tire you gain in power to offset. My buddy had a blaster that was a bit quicker, but I always passed him by 5th gear. If I had 22's I woudl have smoked him.
Best ATV I have ever owned. I have had a Honda 185 3 wheeler, the 350X, a 98 Grizzly and a 99 Warrior. The 350X was hands down the top machine, and i smoked every warrior I ever raced.

Fellas, I took my 1984 200s after reading this post and found a farm road. I took off and whatever top speed I hit, it felt fast as heck. I would like to think that I could run 60 plus on any 3 wheeler, but I know that I would soon start to let off of the throttle. My hat off to all that had the guts to go that speed.

Well here is some data on a 1985 250sx. I just bought this bike last week and it does need a tune up but I clocked it with my gps just to see what it would do. I hit 55.4 mph and I weigh 170 lbs. I can tell you that 55 mph will whip a ton of utility bikes and is not far off a stock 300ex. I could see a light weight person getting pretty close to 60 on one of these bikes (then again a heavy weight would probably be closer to 50). Anyway, I love honda trikes....particularly the ones with full suspensions. The sx is my favorite due to the electric start and reverse. I just hate kick/pull starting and I hate getting off to back up.

ok i want to give an accurate answer to this question even though this thread is old... I had a 350x with all new bearings stock gearing and a brand new engine that was only test fired. once i broke in the engine i radared it with a top of the line bushnell radar gun. now remember stock gearing and oem tires. 65mph on a flat road with no wind. now if you wanted to hold it wide open down hill with a tail wind youd probly get 70mph or maybe more. but 65 is average for a stock 350x. now its got a 452 big bore and is in a 250x chassis...

"Dailed-in" and Pro-V tires and perfect condtions real close to 70 mph - BUT and a very big but - Do Not Forget! the 350X is 4 stroke twin with ample low-end and great mid range torque - I loved trail riding and 'steering with the throttle' especially with flat-tracks. I also believe with a few race mods /riding skills a 350X to this day is still hard to beat. Much of what is considered "performance" is all about 'Horsepower to Weight Ratio' and I'm guessing the 350X is way out front- with its super light weight (compared to other larger sport/utility 4 whlrs ) Most importantly - try to buy a completely restored or mint condition original 350X ! - still holding almost original retail value some $$ 20yrs later! - and that my friends, just about says it all !

I don know how you all have your 350x set up but i have a stock bore , 12/1 wiscoe piston i installed heavy duty valve springs with spark plug washers under them a one size over jet with a White brothers header a 15 tooth front sprocket and a 36 tooth rear sprocket with factory tires and have been clocked with as radar gun at 105 mph. and have been know to bust Banchees *** on bottom or top end. The 350 X is the Best Fastest 3wheeler honda ever made. the reason for the heavy duty valve springs is because the 350 doesn't have a
Rev limiter and the reason it turns out and quit turning is because it turns till it Floats the Valves and adding heavy duity valve springs allows it to turn an additional 1000 rpm

i have a 1980 atc 70 with the 95cc kit,
manual clutch, race grind cam with two sets of springs stacked on top of each outher and they didnt even bind !!! 17 front 48 rear sprockets for around a 2.82 ratio so i can keep the smaller tires (didnt want to cut the fenders to fit bigger ones on) custom exhaust, and a lot of wax on it (so it cuts through the air better) that was clocked 93.6 MPH by 3 police cars,a car driving along side me,a airplane and gps tracking
