Default 200s problems

Does anyone know why my 200 is smoking. It smokes kind of bad. When you start it up and let idol it won't smoke, but when you rev it up or put it in gear and start going it smokes. And it aint a gas smell. It smells like its buring oil but I dont know.

Anyone know why its smoking please tell me.

Thanks austin

If it's smoking like you say it is, it shouldn't take much riding to notice a drop in the oil level if it is indeed engine related smoke. Also, do not overfill these engines. Even a slight overfill will cause engine smoke.

Check the oil level out first to eliminate an intake tract problem. Just because it doesn't smell like gas doesn't mean the problem isn't with the carb.

If it is from the engine internals, it could be one or more things....or even all listed in some cases. No way of knowing for sure without tearing her down.

Rings, cylinder wear, piston wear, valve seals, warped/sticking valve, worn valves and/or valve guides

There are a few but these are most common (all are NGK brand)

D8ES-L
DR8ES-L
D8EA
DPR8EA-9 [Most popular]

For a hotter heat range plug, replace all the number "8"s with 6 or 7.
For a colder heat range plug, replace all the number "8"s with a 9

Some of the plugs I listed above aren't offered in all of the heat ranges, but the DPR plug is. All the plugs I listed fit all 185 and 200 models regardless of model type or year model
