Default Atc 125m Carb problem

My friend had 2 honda atc's in his backyard that he sold me. A 125 and a 200, both in need of serious help. So I started fixing the 125, Now she's as good as new. I replaced almost everything. I finally get to riding and I notice that the overflow and drain lines off the carb constantly pour out fuel... It looks like it's could be a disaster. Does any one happen to know how to adjust the carb so that it dosen't leak fuel constantly? I was told to adjust the float but my Clymer manuel just so happens not to cover this(overflow problem) at all. Any Ideas, I really want to go riding...

At the back of the Fuel section it should give you the float level setting, that will take care of the overflow leak, and if it is leaking out of the drain, sometimes you can just clean the hole real good and it will seal up, if not then you will have to use a sealer on the threads to get it to seal up. If all else fails you can use JB weld on the bowl drain, because you can always remove the bowl to drain it.

As far as the drain line flowing, it is either not tight or not sealing. As thrash said, if worst comes to worst, you can use JB weld. There are generally two reasons that overflow line leaks. Either your float level is to low or you have some trash in between the needle and seat. I think the floats in those have a metal tang you can bend to achieve the specified float level. Be sure to run an in-line fuel filter too. They are cheap insurance. One more thing, I know on my 110's the seat is not replaceble and if it gets coroded bad enough where the needle seats you will have to replace the carb. While you have the carb. off, inspect the seat very carfully, if it is in rough shape you are SOL.

I think that the float is all plastic. Which part is the tang? I'd be suprised if there was any junk in there because I just took the think out of the dunk tank. There is a fuel filter commin off of the tank itself. There is a little rust in the tank, I'll have to take it apart this weekend and see just whats doin this. I'll take a few pics while I have it apart, maybe I'm just not seeing the problem. I don't understand what part would be jb welded. I took the overflow hose and clamped it and the bike eventually stopped running. Thanks for the tips.

The needle and seat, the little valve that that the float controls, needs to be cleaned up or replaced. There is corrosion or deformity, in the mating surfaces. Make sure you turn the gas to off, when you leave it sit, ot he gas will flow down your cylinder and get into the oil. Plugging the drain wont work, because that hose serves three functions. Its the drain when things arent right, and the fuel is overflowing. Its the manual drain, for when you want to leave the float bowl dry, for storage. Its the vent, for the carb.
