i wonder if you could switing the bearing carrier and axle around on a later year R. the rear caliper would need a bracket fabed up. i dont see where it would be a problem because you have to rig some kind of custom rear braking system anyway. just throwing out ideas.

Another question. How much would this engine go for? 82 250r, Has lots of compression, complete trans and exhaust. No carb, cdi or coil.
Im thinking about going for a larger engine in this buggy. Im beginning to think a larger frame than what I was originally thinking will be appropriate.

if you use a quad swingarm on this thing, it will probly be at least 9 feet long, which equates for a heavy go cart. a better suggestion might be to use some sort of polaris independent rear suspension. i believe polaris uses a chain drive for their diff, you could use the hubs, cv axles and polaris suspension and brakes. and if you put all this together, you lookin at probly a 500 lb machine empty....id say its too much for an r engine of any kind to pull around. youd probly be better off with a larger displacment, chain drive 4 stroke......namley, a raptor or a ds650 engine. or......if you dont mind 2 stroke......get a nice snowmobile engine and attach a pulley to the polaris diff....that would probly pull it the best
