200x idle problem
#1
Hey guys:
I'm posting this to assist others who may have a similar problem.
I bought a x that was in pretty good shape. The only problem was the idle. I adjusted it to no avail. Finally, I took the carb off to clean and inspect it. It was pretty clean so I was wondering what the problem might be. As I was putting it back together I found the problem. The o-ring that goes between the carb and the intake was missing. This caused a vaccum leak in turn causing the idle problem. The honda part had to be attained through a carb kit costing $21.00. I ended up using a CAT o-ring that fit fine and saved me money. The bike fired up and started idling perfect.
The same problem mentioned above could be caused by a cracked intake which is common on older ATC's.
Anyway, just wanting to help folks with problems.
