My 200X tops out a 66mph +or- a touch. I am running 22X11X8 in the back, stock gearing, 10.5 to 1 compression, air filter, 110 main jet, and a sorta stock exhaust (it looks stock, but the guts are hollow) It makes for a GREAT trail bike. It has enough low end power to do power wheelies in 2nd gear no prob. All I did for the first year I had it was ride in the woods in southern Missouri and I loved it. A couple months ago I went to a 280 acre ATV park and that is when I decided I need a little more (looking into a 2-stroke dirt bike).

Thrash, how are you measuring top speed on your 200X? 66mph is very very fast for a 200X with the mods you have listed. I also have a 84 200X with the following mods: 10.25:1 Wiseco (.040" over), Web cam (grind 214), ported head, rejetted carb w/ UNI, DG pipe, 1 tooth bigger counter to make up for my 20 in. Shredders. It is hangs very close to a stock 350X through the gears, its just about 5mph slower on top end. I usually see 64 mph on my GPS. I have a friend with an 86 200X that was raced, it has a white bros cam and basically the same mods as mine an his runs the same top speed (within .5 mph)
I have to fix my 200X-- tranny problem with 3rd gear, oh well it took twenty years lol
I recently moved to LA but I am from the St. louis area.
I plan on going to St. Joes the Saturday after Thankgiving.

Riding next to a motorcycle with a speedo. Also my 22" tires are more like 24's at top end also, taller the sidewall, the taller they get by centrifugal force, that may be the difference. I have no doubt you would get to your top end faster than I would.

Hey ThrashandCrash????????????????
so when you put the webcam did you change the valve springs like webcam says to?..
I have an 84 200x... I would like to mod abit but i am not really sure if its worth it.. i mean there is like no such this as a 350x or 250r around here... my 200x was hard enough to find...

Hey ThrashandCrash????????????????
Yes, when I rebuilt mine 4 years ago I did the following:
-ported the head
-new rockers
-new valves
-3 angle valve job
-new HD valve springs
I replaced other wear items such as timing chain and gears etc.
My 200X had a XR200 head, cam, and piston before the above mods and it was flat track raced in 84. I then put the XR parts, pipe, on my lil brothers 185s, after these mods that was the best running 185S I have ever seen
I have no problem beating stock 300EX, Warriors, and Blasters with my mods
So whether or not it is worth it is entirely up to you.
I also have a new 28mm Mikuni flatslide sitting in a box that should compliment my existing setup, but it will take some engineering to get it to work.
Hope this info helps your decision...
