Default Pull rope broke

My pull rope broke on my 86 200s and I removed the casing on the pull start.

Has anyone replaced the rope in their pull crank recently?

Thanks alot!

Ok, Ill try to make it quick. Look at the case, and you will see the little C-clip. Remove that while HOLDING DOWN THE REST, so it doesnt pop out, and all over the place. Then remove the metal lid thing, and there is some small wire curved deals the you just take off, and also take off the little things that look like tiger claws. When you get that far, post again, and Ill tell you the rest.

Default Pull rope broke

Just rebuilt the recoil in my 1984 200s yesterday. One word of advice, when you get to the part where you are removing the recoil pulley itself, make sure it is disengaged from the recoil tensioner spring first. To do this, turn the pulley slightly clockwise before you take it out of the case. The pulley should lift out easily. If it feels like it is still under tension, set it back in, turn it clockwise a little more and try it again. Be patient and go slowly. If the recoil tensioner spring comes out of the case when you take the pulley out, it is a real pain to get wound up and put back in. Hope this helps.
