Hi Everyone this is my first time posting, I need some opinions...

Does anybody know if an oil pump from a YAMAHA YSR80 will fit on an 84 125 engine? It looks identical in the pictures? Is the gearing different or something I don't know about?

Why not get the one designed for the 125?
I assume you aren't trying to get ahold of a used oil pump?

Alot of these 125 Tri-Moto parts are no longer available. I haven't verified the oil pump, but I assume that is the issue you have so I can only tell you this. If the oil pump is discontinued for the 125 and the YSR has the same pump, it too will be discontinued....and if it is not...then the part numbers are different because it is indeed enough difference that the pump will not work. If it is so close as to work in both engines...it would be the same pump according to Yamaha's part numbering system.

If I am wrong on both accounts, let me know and I will do some digging on the matter for you.

 

If you have a decent local yamaha dealer. most parts for the bike are still available, but if the pump is shot, just mix the gas for it, thats the easy out. I normaly run mine 25/1 or 30/1 premixed.
