I have been thinking about buying a 1985 KTM 500 for $500. It runs dosent seem to need any work accept an air box. I was just woundering if i could make any money parting it out. I want to put the money into my 84 200x or should i just use the money i have on the 200x? Or should i just part both of them and get a 250r?

 

oh yea the 200x dosent have a motor now and that money was suppose to got to an xr200 motor, but i cant seem to find one. The one i had lined up for it turned out to be a rip off it needed alot of work and it didnt even have a first gear that worked. Those xr200 motors are impossible to find everyone that i ask tells me good luck. That cant be a good sign.

 

All KTMs prior to 1998 are very hard to find parts for so parting that bike out on ebay would be a very good idea.

Forget about keeping it and fixing it up because you will be in the same boat as the other guys out there with the old KTMs....LOL
