what would win a 2003 yz250 or a 1989 honda cr500r both with pipes and jets and k&n, no internel mods. this dude is talking smack that his yz250 will smoke any honda CR. i have the cr500r but the frame is bent on the rear and the rear tire is butterflying so i cant ride it. what do u guys think?

I have to say, even though I am a YZ250 owner. The CR500 should kill it in a flat @$$ long straight race, no questions about it! But in a tight woods race with some jumps, then I would say the newer 250 would give a flat @$$ good run!

I would also like to add.......You got real gutts to hammer that CR500.!!!! If I can ever get ahold of a cheap CR500 I will E-bay the bike, and put the engine in a quad or trike. I'm not insane enough to ride that in a bike frame modded out!

yea the cr500 screams and sounds tough i saved it from going to the wrecking yard. but i was saving it for a atc250r to atc500r conversion i think the cr500 needs to be run poor bike its just sitting there, and i just turn it on and let it idle and warm it up and let it scream, i just found a cr500 frame on ebay and im bringing it home. i have to run that bike.

its a 1989 cr500r water cooled
pro circuit platinum pipe
pro circuit standard 304 silencer
im sure its been jetted
k&n air filter
and between the carb and intake says V-force i think those are the reeds right?

i want to see that guys face after i eat him.

Why don't you kill 2 birds with one stone and buy an 85/86 atc 250r frame (preferably with a +6 or more swingarm) and put the cr500 motor in it? With more than double the tire patch in the back you'd be 3 bike lengths ahead by the time he started shifting.
