Default '84 200x Swingarm Bolt Removal

Hi everyone, new to the forum and working on a rebuild of of a 200x.
I need to remove the swingarm pivot bolt to swap the swingarm to a different frame,
but can't seem to get it busted loose. Any one had this problem?

Thanks in advance.

as far as getting the nut off a sufficient supply of air behind a healthy impact will do. we used a 750lbs of tq impact and a good size compressor.

the bolt might need some encouragement from being removed through the frame. a 2X4 or 4X4 and a hammer will do. place the wood up against the end of the bolt (with the nut removed of course) and apply force.

Thanks for the info

I got the nut off with no problem, but I have been beating on the bolt with no success.
I am trying not to damage the bolt as I may have to reuse it. I will try using piece of 4 x 4.

When I restored my 83 200X I had to screw the nut back onto the threads so the bolt end was just inside the 'outer end' of the nut and hit it with a BFH HARD. That broke it loose with out damaging the threads, then I used a really long punch to drive the bolt the rest of the way through the frame and swingarm.

seems like we used a long punch or something to beat it the rest of the way out as well.

It seems to me, that if they put a hex head on the non threaded side of the bolt, life would be easier. That way, you could at least spin the bolt with an impact before attempting to drive it out.

I tried to grab the other side with a set of vise grips, but I cannot get enough grip on it to even try to turn it. I haven't had time to beat on it using a 4 x 4 and a BFH, but going to maybe get to it this weekend.

I appreciate everyones help on this - the project would be in pretty good shape if it wasn't for this one bolt!!
