Paddle tire help
#1
Currently I live in Montana and ride at St. Anthony's. I also make trips to Sandlake, in OR. I have an 84r w/ a dg pipe, K&N, and a 37mm carb. Everything else is pretty much stock. I was wondering what the best sand tires would be foor my setup. I'm looking for the best all around tire (climbing, trails, different sand textures, ect.) I was told that the sand skat II were a good tire and I saw a lot of people using them, are they the one's to have?

I go to St. Anthony's a ton. One of the best places to go by far. Usually stay there at Gene's place. As far as the tires go. Sand skates are great on the sand, my personal preference is the Skat Trak haulers. I have an "85" 250R I just got back from ex. On my 86 250R I always ran the haulers, 20X10X10 8 paddle. If you are going to be doing any trail riding though, off the sand, the hard trails with rock and such will tear up your paddles fast. I keep a set of both, paddles and knobbies, one set for dunes and one set for trails.

What I meant by trails is at sandlake there are sand trails that go into the tires and they have a lot of tight turns. I hear that the haulers are the best for slight line hook up, but they slide a lot when turning.
