Default wont start....gas oozing

My 185S has always started on the first or second pull. Recently it won't start at all unless I pull the plug and clean it. Also, gas oozes out the overflow tube on the carb. How does a person adjust this? Or does the carb need to be rebuilt?

If gas is pouring out the over flow tube then I bet your float is stuck or needs adjusting. Take your carb apart and clean it. Adjust your float to the original specs. You will probably need a manual to do this. Also, when you pull the plug out is it wet with gas? What color is the plug? Your carb might not be jetted correctly.

I could be wrong but it sounds like its running a little rich. Go down a few sizes on your main jet. This might take a while to do. Keep putting in smaller sizes until it runs good at high throttle. I'm not a pro, so don't quote me.

well mine did the same thing until i rebuilt the carb. Then it filed the plug and had all that powder stuff on it,until i rebulit the head and came to see where the bottom of the valves are it had all that powder crap built up on them everywhere and i cleaned that ,put new valves it it and it aint did it in 5 months.also ur leaking problem is ur float try to find a new one.if u cant find a new one clean that one really good and if it still leakes hit the bowl on the side with a screw driver or somting kinda hard to make the float get unstuck, good luck man.

I think the powered stuff is probably carbon.
