The recoil: we had to put A NEW CORD IN SO WE DID exactly as the manual said and it work ok then the spring poped off the string wheel we put it back on like 10 times but when you pull it the spring just comes off and spins what is the problem?

If the machine won't run w/ the choke off, you have a plugged pilot jet in the carb. If the machine has been sitting for more than a month, you need to remove the carb and clean it.

I'm thinking you either have the spring installed backwards or the end of the spring isn't staying hooked onto the recoil housing and needs replacing.

i cleaned out the carb 2 times and there is nothing pluged because i blew out threw all the holes. the recoil spring is in the right way because i never took it out and the little tabe where the wheel hooks on is bent in a bit so im going to try bending it back out.

I had the same problem with having to leave the choke on. This is usually a sign that the carb is running too lean. Raise your needle valve one groove and see if that helps. That's all I had to do and mine runs great now with the choke off.

i put the right kit in and it worked great because the needle valve was the wrong size. would worn camshaft lobes make the engine have less power?
