To all those experts out there.... Can I use a CDI off of a 1985 250SX on my 205ES? The CDi looks the same and has the same number of prongs. Are the CDI's the same?

 

I would say probably... I am not an expert but if you have one handy or cheap then I would go ahead and try it. There are people on here that can tell ya for sure if it will work. But I have heard of people useing a suzuki cdi on a honda so I would say its safe to say it will work.

Yes, the 250SX CDI box is the same as the ES as long as it is also from a 1985 model.


The 1986-1987 CDI boxes are different from the 85 models....and so is the 85-87 TRX250 CDI boxes.
