Default KLT110 service help

I inherited the family 3-wheeler (1984 Kawasaki KLT110) as my dad finally got a 4-wheeler...after 20+ years! So it's running decent; beat on it over the weekend and noticed I need to do something with the brakes before I kill myself. Is there any documentation on how to replace the brakes and inspect the cables? I assume an owners manual wouldn't go into such detail. I found several sites to buy the parts, now I just need to figure out how to do it. I don't think the brakes have ever been replaced and rubber "boot" the bottom of the rear brake cable is just disintegrating, but I don't want to do the cable unless necessary.
