i have a atc 200s 1985 and it is messed up. it will start but it smokes and after about an half hour of run time if i shut it off it wont start again i would clean the spark plug and it still would not start. i would pull my brains out and after 60 pulls and a half hour it would start. and oil is leaking out of the plate that says cdi. please can any one help me.

I don't know too much personally, but has the carb been taken off and cleaned lately? Sounds like it could be loading up.

Also, how bad is the oil leaking? Are you making sure there is enough oil in it?

 

its leaking pretty bad and i always check the oil and i cleand the carb about 3 times.

 

What color is the smoke?

what color is the spark plug when you take it out

 

sounds tipical. you most likely need to rebuild the top end of the engine.
