Default 250r problem

I just finished putting my 1985 250r back together with a new swingarm and new 14/39 gearging, but when i started it up and ran it up and down the street its not running right. it seems to rev high and not go anywhere real fast. Shouldnt i have mr top end with my new gearing. It just revs high and barely moves, is this my clutch? Any ideas would really be appreciated.

After reading on here a little i heard something about checking the oil for greyness. The oil is very grey, what does this mean?

JK is right, if its grey, your clutch is just free spinning when you rev it up. Time for a new clutch. On a side note, your gearing is strange to me. You went up a tooth in the front and up a tooth in the rear..why? You pretty much changed it back to stock condition.

Depends on if you basket is worn out. Most times you can just replace everything except the basket. Check the basket for worn in grooves.
