Default how to identify a 250R ??

I just traded for a 250r.
I'm trying to figure out what year it is...
Can you go by the VIN # ?
It has the double headlights. It is air cooled...

Any ideas?

here is the info.

250r atc

Look at the steering stem portion of the frame where the lower triple tree goes through it. You may have to use sandpaper if it has been painted over, but there is a serial number stamped right there. Write it down and then use the search feature here on the forums and type Honda ID under the ATC section. I have several old posts that go into detail with every serial number from every Honda ATC ever built for mass production the USA.

Default how to identify a 250R ??

I had an 86 250 R. Wish I still had it. More fun in the dunes than heavy four-wheeelers..The 86 came with dual lenses and black motor. My friends had 85 models with single lenses and grey motors.

My 350Xs gotta go soon

Kasey is right on the year to color details as well as the single light. The only "double light" 250 3-wheeler I can remember was the Yamaha Tri-Z. The only double light 3 wheeler made by Honda was the four stroke 350X. Are you sure you don't have a 350X?
