I have a 1985 250sx, I was just wondering if anyone might know how to adjust the shifter on it. I have to pull it up to put it in gear and then push it back down again before i can shift to a higher gear. It doesnt snap back automaticly, its realy loose. Any help would be appreciated.

The post is probably broken that centers the gearshift arm ..That was a common problem with that engine which was also used in the 1985-88 ATC250ES BigRed & 1985-87 TRX250 Fourtrax ... It's possible the spring is broken but we've fixed more posts than springs ..
