I have a honda 1985 200m ATC. I'm pretty good at doing things mechanically but I need to know what to look out for. I've been slowly checking the ignition system to find the problem. A local shop that sells and repairs ATC's told me I should check the magneto. I have a 200 page repair manual but cant find anything that relates to that. Is it also called the pulse generator? Where is it? And what exactly should I be looking at or for when I do inspect it?

It has a CDI ignition, capacative discharge ignition I believe is the correct term, pulse generator may term in the manual. The cover is on the left side of the engine as you are sitting on the 3-wheeler. You should have no problem finding that in your manual. You will probably want to inspect the rotor gap make sure the advance springs are not broken (which seems pretty common).
