my Ignition Coil where the spark plug wire goes in to it and locks with that nut,
the guy who had it before me broke the wire off and lost the nut so he jamed in the spark plug wire and some loose copper wire to hold it and to help make a connection and then some electricial tape to hold it..... but i dont think that it is passing the spark to well. the connecting is pretty soild and i have a nice blue spark when i hold the plug to the head. but when i accel the bike just over haft it runs like crap spits and spudders

if i replace the Ignition Coil will this go away?

also my plug is black and sooty and when i jam the accelator from idle the motor does not rev just dies unless i get off the accelator.

the bike smokes a bit at start up when cold and it is a blue smoke i think it is oil but the bike does not loose any the tail pipe is pretty black on the spark arrestor to.

i have go a new plug and gapped it to spec of 0.6-0.8 i have mine at 0.7

if the bike is not in gear then it revs fine from idle most of the time and will rev very high.

some of you might think it is the cluch cus it 90% of the time happens when i am in gear but i took it out and it looks great and is well still with in spec as per the honda shop manual.

could both my problems just be a weak spark? even tho it is blue?

It sounds like your engine just needs some good care
I would repair spark pkug wire properly with new wire
as for the carb issue
sounds like a good soaking/ cleaning is in order to clean all the passages
check valve adjustment
check timing chain adjust
check ignition timing
If you do not have a manual I would get one
Should be Clymer M326
In short your trike needs some long over due TLC
Good luck
