i recently purchased this trike for putt'n around
the property w/ my kids. the seller said the neutral light absolutely has to be on for the sx to start. recently i noticed the neutral light to be kinda pulsating going from dimmer to brighter when first started. the engine would seem weaker to run as the light dimmed but, when in gear and riding though, you can go back to neutral and the thing will still idle reguardless of the light being on or not? now i cant get the light on for anything and the buggy wont start. 1st kick every time when the lights on....doesnt this thing use a magnito for ignition spark. the headlighs bright and i spent about two hours cleaning electrical connections to no avail. the batteries got a full charge... any ideas out there?
thanx.....

Could be a faulty neutral switch. Try disconnecting or shorting the two wires that go to the neutral switch. By bypassing it the trike should think it's in neutral all the time. It's just a safety feature to prevent it starting in gear. I am assuming it's the same as a 250ESF so I could be completely wrong.

thanx nik for your input.
after posting this, i gave it another shot at tracing the wiring harness and under a mummy's
worth of e-tape, the gremlin reared its ugly head. in a minute or two the sx was back.

I have the same bike and it will kick start while in gear.
Is the battery new? If not try connecting a battery charger directly to the battery and then see if the light comes on, if it comes on and stays on it is either your battery or your starter. If this doesn't work it's a good chance the wires are wore out.
Good luck and you got yourself a nice little trike.
