I am a little curious here, has anyone tried using aftermakret forks from a dirtbike on an ATC? I saw a website that the owner put some Kayaba or Showa inverted front forks on it. It had to have had some work done, but has anyone done this, was it difficult?

Actually they're blown, and I know of some forks of a new CR that I coudl get cheap, so I thought I might try it. Believe it or not, I can hit some farily decent jumps, so I wanted forks that could handle it. Thanks for the info.

 

It would be cool to get some big fat dirtbike forks onto a ATC without having to spend thousands on it. I heard White Brothers sells spings for stock ATC forks. I haven't actually looked so I don't know.

 

I tried to get this info out of 250r len. He got back to me, but never with the info. You will need to get your trips precision center bored to accept them. You will need to get a different axle made up to accomodate the new style dirt bike forks, they aren't threaded on the end like your trike axle. You will also need to see if your stock caliper is going to bolt onto/line up with the rotor on the new setup. So, as always, there is a little more to it than it looks. And don't forget the longer front brake line [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

ive been getting some big air also but have a hard time landing on all 3 wheels. seems my front end likes to rise up. is this because i have to much air pressure in forks? maybe it the way i ride. wife's quad jumps same hill perfect landing on downslope with all 4 tires. atc lands on back tires. its no big deal but i would like to land on all 3.

 

Sounds like the forks are rebounding too fast, so too much air pressure could be the culprit. I wish I could set up my trike like a new MX quad suspension wise, that would be sweet. KciH, check your PM's.
