I just got this trike from a friend of mine, It's pretty much beat to death but it keeps running, the only problem is that after a few minutes of riding it will overheat and shut off.My friend said it needs new "points"? where exactly are the "points" located? Does this sound like it might be the problem? also do you know how much it would cost for the part? thanks a lot!

 

Before I messed with points, I would change the oil (and filter if applicable). I'm not sure if those machines had points, but you will need to get a service manual to properly service it, so I would start with that. You should also clean and oil the air filter.
