Default 400ex carb on 350X

I know I need to jet down the main jet, but that doesn't help my midrange. When you punch it, the motor dies, I have a carb tuning handbook and it said that, if the motor dies when punched the slide or the needle need to be changed. I tried adjusting my clip but it didn't help.

have you tried taking the lid off the air box, mine acts that way if i leave it on, or maybe you have to jet it down abit before you mess with your needle, i really dont know if my slide has been changed, or if it has stock jets,i would try jetting the main down a bit, then try moving the needle.

I 'll try that this weekend, I have ports drilled in my lid so it really doesn't help when you remove the lid. I will try the main jet though. Thanks for the reply

Ok, so my main is a 250, my fuel pilot is a 30, the needle jet is a P5, the needle it self is a 6DH4, and the air jet is a 2.0 . I'm going to change the fuel pilot to a 45(the only other one I have right now). We will see if that fixes the off idle stumble.
