Default Paiute ATV Trail | Day 3 of 5

On Day 3, we leave the Monroe mtns via trail 88, and head up into the Tushar's, stopping at the Deer Creek Ghosts Town and Silver King Mine. Then after riding the Max Reid trail, we find a great camp spot along the 01 just south of the Freement Indian Reservation. What a trip!

Is that a Polaris Ace I see in your group?

Clay, I changed the title to Day 3 of 5. I noticed you had two threads called Day 2 of 5 and figured things out. I are sharp.

If, for some reason, you want it to remain Day 2 of 5, let me know. -Moose

It is an ACE. That machine goes anywhere, and he has benefit of a roof. Not bad.

Moosehenden, thanks for changing the name. I attempted to, but couldn't figure it out.

Thanks, glad the videos are entertaining. I'm planning to do more series like this as well. If you haven't watched it already, we have a 2 part series on a camp trip we did in Central Washington this summer. Here are the links.

Part 1;
Part 2;

We did Deer Creek Canyon, and Max Reid also. Was a great ride. I'm hoping that somehow we can swing it next year to go back.

I was surprised by how fast the scenery changes on the trails. Max Reid was an easy ride. If it hadn't been for the canyon trail below the Max Reid, I would have been disappointed.

I cover this in the upcoming Day 4 video, but the forest service roads northwest of the Tushars, like 1020, etc., were some of the best riding we did and it looks like hardly anyone goes there. They are not "Paiute Trails", but the scenery was unbelievable. Should have day 4 video published later this week and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Ah, you like the technical two-track trails. We have lots of those in New England. Nothing as scenic as the Paiute Trail but challenging. Our trails consist of mud and rocks, hard pack and rocks, snow and rocks, water and rocks, tree roots and rocks, and sand and rocks. They're not all that bad but some of them are very challenging. Unfortunately, that means someone eventually crashes and they smooth them back out. Oh, I forgot the rocks and rocks trails.

Haha. Sounds like the trails around here, but we have some elevation changes. I think my favorite trail of our ride was PST 73. When you return, make sure you do this one. We rode from Anitomy, so we climbed it. I would recommend climbing it.
