Lets face it, were just a couple of ole goats! My astrological sign, just happens to be the goat, Capricorn lol When I see a little challenge on the trails, I can't just ride by, without at least giving it a little, look see lol

On that interactive map I posted a link to, I went in the Layer List on the menu bar and unchecked the motorcycle trails and 50" ATV trails. That makes it much easier to see where all of the routes are.

Denton Creek Route is 31 miles long. It goes almost to Leota Trail to the west, and there's a 9.5 mile connector that goes east right to St. Helen Route West. There's a parking lot just west side of M-18 on Waco RD which is part of the route. The easiest way to get there is take I-75 to exit 227, and M-55 west until you get to Prudenville. Then take M-18 south almost 4 miles and turn right on Waco RD. The parking lot is 1/2 mile down on the left side of the road. Denton Creek Route starts right there on Waco RD going west. If you ride the whole Route and want to ride some more, stop at the parking lot to gas up. Then go east on Waco Rd and the connector will take you to St. Helen Route West. Just from the parking lot to where St. Helen Route West connects to St. Helen Route South and North is 12 miles as the crow flies, so maybe 20 miles by trail. Denton Creek Route plus St. Helen Route West to that point and back would be a good day's ride.

ETA: The hill in that video looks a lot like one on Mio Trail but not exactly. Everyone flies right up it, then the trail turns as soon as you get over the top.

I have got to learn how to do that stuff...have to admit I am not a computor wiz! You have probably figured that out already. Wish someone had classes on this kind of stuff. Would make trip planning a lot more fun!

Here's one of my handy dandy maps I hand to everyone I ride with, and many toss it down somewhere, thinking there's no chance we'll ever get disconnected, somewhere on a long ride, but it happens often, almost every trip, with sooooo many trails x'ing ea other, and there's been times, especially getting later in the day, or just after dark, that I'v found a rider heading off, away from the planned trail....not stopping in there tracks, or back tracking to a place we both saw one another last, then forgetting to stay at a clear intersection, where they could be spotted easier, counting on two trails better odds, then needing to turn motor off and on flashing lights, and try not to freak out, because it gets plenty freaky, way out there without you helping out, adding to the feeling, especially after dark!! even the map may not help, trails can be so misleading, where one minute your heading in one direction then suddenly you find yourself right back where you were minutes ago. it takes a lot of past experiences on the same area, maps, sun for direction, stars if its a clear night, gps if you happen to have one, and prayer....you will be praying, believe me especially after being lost for even a short time, and the coyotes start howling....scares the heck out ya, no joke, been there myself more than once! that's when if your truely lost and desperate, you get on the first rd. you finally get to, and hope to god your taking it in the right direction, when you find yourself running low on gas! even the main rd's up there can head off in another direction from the way you were hoping to head to, and up there you don't find gas station or even a town for many many miles, don't count on finding one, better to just try to find camp. Don't think it would be a good idea to walk up to a cabin late at night, knocking on doors! you might rather meet up with a stray animal lol Thankfully I'v never had to spend the night out, lost somewhere in the middle of gods country, but came close a couple of times, reaching camp with just fumes left in the gas line, since tank was dry as a bone! lol Been real lucky, knock on my, wood in me head! This is just one of many maps I hand out, depending on the area we expect to ride. I'v got almost every trail mapped out this way, in the state, Hope to do the Atlanta loop this year, pretty rustic! The areas in red is some of the best scenery, and most challenging trails in the state, been riding back in there, often since 86. It can get real screwy often, but great place to stay, camp for days exploring its many different terrains.

Now I know why I have a bigger gps on the way, that map is so little I couldnt read it with a magnifying glass. Many of these trails I wont be on anyway as they are atv trails. This is another reason fr having my own navigation gear so I can stay on my own routes and stay off the trails. Not looking to make any additions to the states bank account.

Bought it thru the Garmin online store, a model 61 LM-R with a 6" screen. Uses the same vvmap card I already have. Unit was 100 plus tax and title, first born and an evening with the wife. Should be here sat according to the tracker. That small screen 4" was to hard on these old eyes.
