tether style kill switches

Default tether style kill switches

hey, i'm looking into getting a tether style kill switch for my quad. it's a hond a300EX. has ne body had problems with these? is there some big disadvantage that they have over the stock kill switch?

Default tether style kill switches


The purpose of a tether kill switch is for when you fall of your quad. It will kill the motor so it doesn't run away from you. Also if you hit a rock landing a jump and crack the engine case it will keep the motor from pumping all the oil out of it and locking it up. It will also keep the motor form ingesting water if you should fall over in a creek while riding also preventing water damage to the motor.

Go with the Pro-design. They are pretty dependable. There are some trick looking ones such as the pingry, but the PD is the most widely used. This is handy because I have forgotten my tether at home before and drove 3 hours to race. Luckily, a spare PD tether can usually be found from another racer. Finding a spare for other brands wouldn't be as easy.
