gas gas 450 dyno
#4
i know that LT250r91 had a dyno of his HP300, but i don't recall seeing a dyno chart for the 450 anywhere yet. factory specs on the 450 say that it is 47 hp,(i assume- at the crankshaft) i don't believe there are that many of the 450 around yet... some of the shops will be able to get more out of it with remapping the efi, because what i was told by my shop is that the thumper is mapped to be very smooth & very lean to meet strict european emissions standards.

I don't have a dyno on the 450, but do to the numbers that my 300 put out to the rear wheels I'd say that the 450 will put out somewhere around 40 to 45 hp to the rear wheels. This is just a guess on my end. I've also been told that GasGas has drop the compression of the 450 do to gasket problems so it maybe closer to the 40hp now than before. If my dealer gets one in the showroom longe enough for me to talk him into taking it over the Lazarus at GT Thunder I'll get a dyno for everyone.

I only saw this topic today...
I have a portuguese magazine that tested the GG450 and others (ltz/predator/ex400/)
Power was 40.7 rwhp at 8750rpm's.
While being beaten by the predator in max hp by 3.2 rwhp, the GG has the best power curve of all.
It has power in all rpm's, pulling like a tractor out of the turns, leaving others behind.
The power curve is the best I've seen so far. It's like a very round curve, instead of a line climbing up and then abruptly going down, like the predator.
They said that when you shift you don't loose power like all the others, and you really can tell that just by looking at the power curve.
By the way, the GG450 is getting a 60% new engine for 2005, putting out 56hp (crank) at 12500rpm's.
That's 2 more than bombardier claims for their Baja (unlike America, in Portugal manufacturers declare hp numbers).
GG will have a big bore kit for it, 500c.c. and 64hp (at the crank, I presume...) at 11000rpm's.
