TRX450R in the Baja 1000

Just for the record, the protested race was this year's Baja 500. The CC's were riding the Kawisaki V-Force. This brings into question last years Baja 1000, where the Rincon "won", but there is no official protest of that race that I know of.
When you look at the Baja 500 data, it is very convincing! They would have had to short cut the course in both the first and last sections (same sections because it was an out and back part of the course). They had fantastic times on these two sections, but nothing spectacular on all the others. Like he said, they would have had to have been in there with the dirt bikes.
Notice that Kawasaki has not even mentioned this win!! You would think we would be bombarded with ads and all kinds of hype! But nothing! Looks like Kawi wants to distance themselves from the controversy.

Hi,recon!.Maybe kawasaki not kawisaki',is not making a big deal cause the bike was bought by Gilberto Santana, and had no factory backup at all. Also the guy with those 'ridiculous' times, trains in the morning and afternoons for two weeks constantly. So maybe you should not beleive everything you read, especially by an american mag.,that bashes on every subject to create press. That's just the other side of the tortilla.LATER!

Just for the record, I am not giving credit to any ATV magazine. There is not a single decently written ATV mag in existence. They are all garbage and appear to be written by a middle school special education student (compared to the high quality editors of Cycle World for example).
That being said, I do think the times given in the above referenced article can be trusted (it is pretty hard to screw that up!). I am still waiting to hear your response to my question ds4baja. No matter how much practice those guys get it doesn't explain the incredible times in one section while only receiving average times in all other sections. Also, nothing short of a flux capacitor is going to make a utility machine as fast as a big-bore bike. Have you ever owned/ridden a CR500, KX500, or one of the large modern thumpers?

Dissimilar: Have you ever raced baja?,or been in baja?. Maybe you should experience some part of it ,not by video or magazine. If sal fish does not have a problem with this times, why everybody else does. This desert racers from Mex.,are the best in the bussines, and they dont race 4 money or fame because gilberto is rich!.So its not about the cheese anymore.bye bye

Due to the nature of the race, it is very hard to PROVE cheating. However, when the times turned in defy logic, common sense should be allowed to show its face. I have never raced Baja but why do you think it takes that experience to know a bike will wax ANY utility ATV in that (or virtually any) event? I answered your question, now for the third time I am asking you to answer mine. How did a Rincon traverse that one parcel of terrain nearly as quickly as those bikes and why did it decide to slow way down everywhere else? Also, for the second time, have you ever ridden a big-bore dirt bike anywhere near its full potential?
