I figured I'd post this in this forum because 90% of race qauds have trimed fenders. What do you guys think is the best method. I previously have used a utility knife to cut them. But it is a pain to use on this thick of plastic and keep strait. After many hours of filing they look good but does any body have a better way. Any special tools etc. Also, has anyone cut them any way to smooth them out like factory. I have used a propaine torch (very lightly heated) before. All my other trim jobs have looked good but I want this one to look perfect. All help welcome, thanks.

I use a hack saw blade or a die-grinder. The hacksaw has more control, but a good die-grinder and cut off wheel work well. Then I take a razor blade and scrape it smooth, making a edge that matched the rest off the plastic. Then file it a little like you said then what I do for that "factory" look I get some wetdry sandpaper and wet sand it with 400 then work my way up to 1000. Leaves a nice, clean edge. Hope this helps!

Use a jigsaw with a brand new metal cutting blade, then start sanding. it is easy.
