I will be racing mx in the near future. I had to choices: keep the raptor and mod it for mx, or sell it and buy a 250r already race ready. I chose to sell my raptor and get a 250r, which I'm in the process of doing right now. If you are going to get serious about racing I would go with a quad thats more mx friendly.

 

You could race a raptor but why not try the YFZ450 it's faster and lighter. You can race it against Raptors too if you want in the open class.

 

If you wanna race mx stay away from dumping $ into the rappy...it won't be anywhere near as good as a 400ex for teh same $ or a 250r

I agree, if you're looking to buy a quad that you want to race with, you're better off getting something other than the Raptor. But if you already have the Raptor, you can race it and still have a great dune and trail quad.

 

I have a raptor. basically stock except rear tires an whatever replacement parts ive changed. If I wear to join in a beginner class, (just say 400cc and up or whatever) do you think I would have a chance?

We have a track at home, just a few little jumps and some turns. Im not totally new to ramping and cornering ect.
