That's for the Pro class. There will be no more 250R based atv's in the pro class. They have to use production atv's now. There doing this to try and get more manufactoring support for the sport.

I hear this thrown out all the time, but it is total BS.
They are doing all the same mods to the race four strokes.
Don't take my word for it just look at a pic of any of the top racers quad.
On top of that the four stroke motors cost twice as much to build.
So the four stroke racers cost more.
They are just tired of getting beat by the two strokes. Period.

I think the new YFZs are great, but.........
If they are supposed to be better why would you need to ban the two strokes?

There doing this to try and get more manufactoring support. If a atv maker (Yamaha, Honda, Polaris, ect) see pro's riding there atv's in races, they might start showing support for us as riders. If they start doing this, and see the popularity of the sport, then they will put more R&D into new and better atv's in the future. It's a win win situation.

I have seen this stated before and it certainly true.
However it is also just a doublespeak way to state that it is too embarrassing for manufactures to be involved in racing where their latest and greatest product gets beat by fifteen year old machines.

The people who have made the aftermarket parts for the 2 stroke machines have done their homework.
The big 4 have been building the same crap for decades.
The new machines should be judged on thier own merit and not given special treatment.

Why is it a brand new Gas Gas 300 can't race against the new Japanese quads?
