Would you go with axis next time? I know that Elka has came a long way in two years though, because 2 years ago almost no one was running them. Now a lot of the top pros are using them. That must mean something. Of course they make get more attention that you and I, but ive heard that elka has done a LOT of testing with this new 450 and with Roll

Actually, I've got a set of DeRisi shocks, but I haven't gotten to try them out yet. I got my Elkas right as the company was starting to become popular. I know, from seeing newer sets, that they have made a lot of changes to the shocks. They look like a better shock than what I have, but I can only give an opinion based on my personal experience.
If I had the money right now I'd have no problem with buying Axis.

Jeff - you will love your Axis shocks. We have several riders running Axis - the quality is excellent and the service is also excellent. I had Elka's when they first came out as well - and they were great for me. I had the Piggyback Rezzies, however..........I haven't shopped prices for a while, but I understand they are all running pretty close in price these days. Sounds like you made a great choice! Thanks Corry. I have also heard good things about axis and i think they have been building quad shocks longer than Elka. I have heard that elka has done more testing with the 450 though. Ive also heard that the turn around time and the service is better with Elka, but the guy that makes the arms i am buying does a lot of testing with axis so i think Axis is the better way to go. I will check out the webiste you listed. Cya!

I will tell you this, I went to the dealer show 2 weeks ago in Indy and 90% of the quads there had Elka's on them, and if you can believe this even Dirtbikes had them, so that has to mean something....I'm an Elka dealer and there service and product is among the best. You can order a set of cutom shocks and have them within a week......you don't get that anywhere else. I would seriously take a look at this product.

Elka has corrected most all of the original issues or problems, but I dont know of any brand that does not have problems with actuall setup or valving and springs time to time.
Cant say anything bad about elka beyond their being over priced (they were a bargain 1.5 yrs ago when I got mine, but now there prices are crazy like all the others plus they have the advantage of being made in Canada. Maybe martin is just getting a little greedy, or having us buyers pay for all the pro endorsements). They have been very helpfull with any questions or trying diff spring rates etc, and the overall quality of the product has been excelent.
If you have not seen my suspension thread on here I will offer this, I believe that though quality is very important its the customer service that sets the various brands apart, and the actuall fine tuning and set up performed by the end user or rider is as much or more important to a better performing machine than what name is on your shocks.
I have rode quads with works steelers that were set up right that performed better than ones with more expensive brands, so I know there is a lot of performance to be had from proper set up.
Get the set up and fine tuning right and you will be happy with any of the brands mentioned here.
