Gusseting Banshee Frame
#1
I am going to start racing this summer. I need some information on having my frame gusseted. Where do you do this. I plan on doing the welding myself. People that have had this done, let me know. Please try to be specific. Thanks.

In the new 4 Wheel and ATV Action the article about the pikes peak Duncan Racing Banshee's stated that they gusseted their frames at the upper mount of the rear shock and at the steering stem. I don't know if this is enough for what you may need to have strengthened. Hope it helped.

TRY TO USE A LITTLE COMMON SENSE. LIKE THE ABOVE PERSON MENTIONED TO GASSETTE THE TOP REAR SHOCK MOUNT, ALSO GASSETTE THE FRONT END SHOCK MOUNT. IN ADDITION, TRY TO GASSETTE NEAR THE FOOT PEG. YOU BASICALLY NEED TO LOOK FOR STRESS AREAS SUCH AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED. DON'T FORGET TO GASSETTE THE BOTTOM SUBFRAME AREA (WERE STRESS IS GENERATED BY THE SEAT WHEN LANDING HARD FROM JUMPING AND BOUNCING). I'M NOT A SERIOUS RACER OR WELDER, BUT THIS ARE THE BEST AREAS I WOULD EVER WELD. PLS, CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. I HOPE THESE TIPS HELP.
