Hmmmm, I would be looking at filter, carb mods from Rath racing, or going with the 450r carb, that would include jetting, maybe a header for low end. After that, see how the gearing looks...might want to change that to get better low end also. Loose some top speed, but if it's MX, you ain't hitting top speed anyway.

I haven't raced before. I just wanted to try it out this year. Where is the best place to buy aftermarket performance stuff online?

I aggree with the Rath referal.
www.rathracing.com I believe should get you there. He's in with the polaris stuff.
I'm not sure I agree with the header statement about low end. Most stock headers give more low from my expierience. There could be one out there that's made for extreme low, but don't the Pred have a ton of low anyways? I thought they had low but was too high geared.
When the topic starter goes to 18" tires I think he'll be fine in that department.
You will need a tether and nerf bars. Beadlock wheels sure beat trying to race on flats.
After that, think suspension before any motor mods.Your machine is faster than the stock suspension as is.
The biggest thing I can recommend is:: HAVE FUN!!! don't think your fast or you'll go to the hospital fast.
Ride, learn and you will be fast.
Have a ball dude!
