Yea, top dog at the repair shops.
When I was In Phoenix I visired my buddy Neil at ATV Racing. He showed me 3 Yams in for pistons. He laughed and said" I get them in all the time! I get a Honda now and then".

IMO::: RED WING DUDE!!!

Countless pro's have made the switch to Honda and Zuki because of the vast motor problems of the YFZ.
IMO the Yams are OK but they will never last like a TRX 450R in the long haul.
Have fun.

A yamaha guy jumping ship because he has to replace a piston on his race quad....?LOL Any idiot could tell you the yamaha is faster so who cares...It's a race quad...Buy the yamaha 450 If you want to have the fastest quad period.

Glad more yamahas are in the shop....prolly cause more people have cleared them off the showroom floor.

Dan,
They say "the proof is in the podium" Look at the GNC results. 5 races, 4 times Honda got #1. Zuki once.
Stock vs stock! Yes the Yam is dependable and a lil faster. I contend that you and I can't use all the speed/power of either machine.
Modded race quads? Look at the problems Yam has had. I see them drop like flies at the nationals. Jason Luburgh is the latest to ditch Yamaha.
Sorry dude, I didn't see whare I said anything about ppl getting rid of the yam's because of the pistons. I stated the place gets many more yam's than Honda's.
I see you have a ute. Where are you getting the idea that Yamaha is top dog?
"Any idiot could tell you the yamaha is faster so who cares...It's a race quad."
Statements like that is what causes flame wars and not needed in the forums.
Do you have racing expierience? A YZF 450? Been to a GNC/GNCC race? A 12 hour race?
