32 to old to start racing?

Get out there and have some fun. Its us old farts that show the younger ones how to have fun! The younger bucks are too consumed with the glamour.
Just show up and introduce yourself. You will be surprised at how many of us roll up the wrenches from working on the kids bikes and get out there to remember how much fun riding is. For fun!
Good luck.

I think you are never to old to start racing.I was 31 years old and 6'3" 300lbs when I started so I was a big guy.Iam still racing XC at 33 and still come in last just about all the time but having a lot of fun.So just go out and have some fun and be safe.

I didn't really get started racing until I was 32.
I will turn 40 this year and get beat every race by guys 45 - 50 years old.
Give it a try, and remember to have fun!!
You don't have to do a whole lot to your quad to begin racing. The only item you will need to buy would be a tether type kill switch. You can put some bolt on items that help but are not necessary. Such as Nerf bars, bumpers, etc. as far as the engine goes, I have found that leaving it stock is the most reliable.
If you do plan on putting any money into your DVX to help you go faster, I suggest first putting money into the suspension. You need to be able to handle the power before you can give it more.

I started racing when I was 38..My advice is to get yourself in the best physical shape that you can.I would be quick for a couple of laps(relatively speaking) and then fade pretty fast.I raced in a "grand prix" series which is sort of a TT and mild motocross mixed together. It had a lot of very tight cornering and the DVX isn't the best cornering in stock condition as it sits too high...I agree spending some money on suspension is money well spent.Especially the front end.Better shocks and widening and lowering the quad will make it much easier to ride...Also look for the over 30 and 40 classes if there are any around. These guys will still be fast but they usually won't run you over to win

i dont know why people think 30 is just the end...
Doug Gust is rapidly approaching 40 and he is still going strong giving people nearly half his age a tuff time and beating the **** out of them He is a champion and proof that its possible. He has even said he will race for another 5yrs. AFter that i think he'll still race - in a different series perhaps...
Farr is in his 30's, as is Byrd, Yokely- all in hteir 30's...Natalie is almost 30...Ballance is over 30. I think if you look at the podium and see the top riders in all the different divisions, xc, mx, etc.. you will see that most of these guys are in their late 20's- late 30's. Jones is about the only 'youngin' i can think of that is consistent. Penland races the utility stuff and he is older than gust...
i say eat right, exercise, pace yourself, build up stamina. You may not be on the podium right away but with determination, trainng, practice - it could happen. But have fun, live the dream.

32 is not to old to start racing,i know guys that are in their 40's and still race.Im 16 and have a Z400 and i love it.On what kind of racing you do is what your into.I personly like XC. The Z400 and DVX400 has the same engine, If you XC you dont really need alot of power, i would just buy air filter, and a pipe. Once you get into u could buy bolt on acceories but they arent really neccesary.
