Summit Indoor NE Ohio/Akron
#11
It's a little South of Lima, Oh., right off of I75. I just stumbled upon this on Thumpertalk a week ago. And what a nice suprise.

The first of three tracks at Summit Indoor this year was great. It featured the long start from end to end into the widest left-hand turn of the track. Immediately out of the first turn was about a 60 foot triple only the big bikes were doing. Then a right hand turn into a double double, which some of the dirt bikes were turning into a long triple. Then a left hand turn into a long double then two short doubles at the finish line before a left hand turn back to the start straight.
Josh Upperman, Pro rider with Team Motosport Honda/Baldwin Racing showed up to spank the Money Quad riders, by leading from flag to flag in both motos. He was also the only quad rider to hit the triple Saturday night.
The story of Saturday had to be a Suzuki dirt bike rider, #95 Durham in the light-weight money class. He was blowing by the competition in the heat race, and even turned the finish line straight into a triple-triple, unreal! But in the first race another rider took him out by sending him over a berm. So in the final race, he pulled a better holeshot and came out in second. But by the second corner on lap one he was pushing for the lead, so much so he clipped a hay bale trying to triple into the double-double section and landed on the side of the second double take-off. It looked like he broke his wrist and eventually rode off the track under his own power.
This kid was blazing fast. I hope he's okay and comes back to light up Summit Indoor for the final six races.
I only made it Saturday, but it was some great racing. Be sure and make it to the next two weekends in January and February. Competition Riders of America has the pre-registration form on their website with the dates and fees.
