HOw to remove stump for building a mx track?
#1
Ok me and Jviper 85 and another kid are building a MX track.THe part we have done was mainly sticker bushes and tiny tree's.And a couple medium size tree's(about 1 foot in diameter)We had my dad use his jeep's winch and pulled them out.(he couldn't get out and had to jump a 4 wheeler jump to get out.It was funny)
Now we are at the big tree's.We finally talked my dad into letting us use the chain saw so we can cut them down but how do we remove the stumps?
Any idea's? Thanks.

I think your best bet is to bury them.
You could use a jeep or ATV to try and pull them out, but it will take a lot of work, and wear on the machines. The manual labor you put into the stump, the easier it will be to get out. Start hacking at the roots with an axe and shovel. Get enough roots and the thing will come right out.
Remember, once you get the stump out, where are you going to put it? The bigger the tree the bigger the stump.
Also, keep the ground flat, you will need to fill the whole.
I would say dig around the base of the tree and cut the stump as low as you can get it. Then just cover it with dirt. Just be careful with the saw. For your safety and you Dad's piece of mind.
If you have the cash, hire a stump grinder guy or rent one. (if you can) That would be the best way, but it would probably cost at least $50 a stump. Good luck and have fun!

I removed 4 in the last 2 days.I dug 2 of them out yesterday and pulled 2 of them out today.I used a 10 ton hand hoist thing and a nylon strap and a 20 foot chain. The big tree i pulled out was a cedar I am not sure of what kind the other's where.I used the 300ex to pull them out of the way.My cousin's buddy owns a tree service and he rides his 400ex at my house sometimes. He used a stump grinder to get the stumps out at my cousin's mx track and they even made whoops with it.He said he would remove some stumps frre of charge maybe I can swindle him into helping me out!
