Dirt Track Gearing
Hey all, we're a small shop located in The Dalles oregon. We have been into the Pacific Northwest Flat Track scene for some time now but on bikes. We're going to be getting into the ATV side of it this spring. Having never set up an ATV for dirt track we were wondering what we should use for gearing. We're going to be running a 2007 Honda TRX450R. Any advice, not only on gearing, would be apprecieted!!
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Dirt Track Gearing
Welcome to the forums.
Gearing will depend alot on the track length and conditions. The key is to try different set-ups. A tooth one way or the other can make a huge difference. You'll catch right on I'm sure.
Lowering and scaling the machine is a must. Start with the weight even front to back and side to side to start. A "wedge" (expanding the length of the right sway bar adjustment) usually makes things good.
The softest tire is usually used and a tire groover is needed.
