So, the new list for fastest 4 stroke atv's from the factory are;

1. Can Am Outlander 1000
2. Can Am Outlander 800
3. Polaris 850 XP Scrambler or Sportsman
4. KTM 450
5. Yamaha YZF 450
6. Yamaha Raptor 700

 

What about the KTM 525 XC? Should it fall more like this?

1. Can Am Outlander 1000
2. Can Am Outlander 800
3. Polaris 850 XP Scrambler or Sportsman
4. KTM 525 XC
5. KTM 450
6. Yamaha YZF 450
7. Yamaha Raptor 700

If this is accurate, what would be next? Ultimately I would like to have a solid top 10 list for others that are researching the fastest factory 4 stroke ATV's.

 

The 450s are all a draw. The KTM 525 is a 450 on steroids.

That KTM I had never heard of until now. I did some research, and its pretty impressive! Does it also require the often and expensive oil change that the YZF 450 does?

Like someone else said, you can include all of the 450s in your list. That would take you out to top ten if you throw in the Kawasaki, Honda, and suzuki 450s.

The all the same hp.
There the same 450 motors used in the motocross motorcycles. None of them have much of a advantage over the next.

 

I understand they are the same HP, but are they all geared the same, and the same weight? These things can make a difference, and just wanted clarification before I chalked them all up to being identical speed wise.

 

My buddy has a Honda 450, and was slaughtered by the same stock Raptor 700 that got inched out by a YZF 450. So, I guess from what I've seen not all 450's are equally as fast even if they are equally powerful.

 

ltr 450 with cherry bomb, remove air filter lid and uncork factory exhaust.. cherry bomb is only $25 bucks.. it is the fastest 450 in it's class with the $25 mod

I have no problem betting a raptor 700 in a drag race or any other 450
