In the wise state of Michigan, they let riders under the age of 16 to ride 90 plus cc machines. And Red Bud race is in Michigan.Any Insurance bought would surely cover that track in Michigan per state guidelines.I am going to presume that your going to tell me that my kid still cannot compete being 13 and on a 300ex.So,I've allready typed the "NO" part for ya.Lets go on to explain how the ATVA rules circumceed state laws Thanks

It took you this long to find out about this, did you also read the part about that they had to take the rider trainging class. When we meet in the congress last Oct I showed this to the other people on the comittiee. If you remember I said that we voted to change the sizes, but it was over ruled by the board of trusties on avice from the lawyers. There is a few other states that have different ages and sizes.

Nah,I knew months ago, just making sure. But the question was: how can an organization (ama-atva) rules over-ride state rules?! I see why you retired from teaching,I didn't think anyones spelling could be worse than mine

I was a math teacher and we just used letters or symbols just like in equations. If you are so worked up on this age thing, you need to talk and keep talking to you state and fed.leg. to get it changed. It has to be done in the U.S. Congress not talked about here.
If you are so worked up on this age thing, what about at the dealer is trying to sell a quad to someone and the person says that it is for there 14 year old. By law that dealer can talk or sell them that quad if they find out that info. Go ask a dealer about this. this needs to be changed more than or ages in racing. This is like at a car dealership if you are going to be buying a Corvet and there age is let's say under 21 they can't sell it to you. It can only be purchased and driven by someone 21 or older. Go talk to a dealer about the limits that they have on selling quads larger than 90cc to people. This is one reason why you need to talk to your state and fed law makers to get changed.
Are you going to be at Macon? Are is that to far south for you? Hopefully it will be warm 10 outside today, 2 days ago 60.

WHOA: easy big fella I'm not worked up.It is a legitimate question.I know that the rule change was shot down by lawyers,I know the dealer has restrictions.Non of all that answers the question.Plz dont think I'm getting on you,I just thought that you would know or be able to find out.No idea about the Macon race, maybe, but prolly not.Math teacher eh,are you the one that told them 440 was equall to 250?<---j/k

If you talk ATV engines, they are equal. Look at the results from last year. This year might be a different story, maybe? I heard the otherday that there is no piston for the 450F to make them 440 legal yet? The 440 piston will not be made for a few more months, so it can only be used in the open or age classes. Do you have any info on this?
