Could I get away with some after market shocks, and without geting wider a-arms? This thing will take a pretty good hit for the stock suspenders to me. Or should I sell and buy a banshee instead? I could make the banshe a hell of a lot quicker for a holeshot.

If you are serious about racing MX, you want to get as close to 50" in width as possible. As Pontiac says, "Wider is better".

if your willing to get rid of the raptor to mx, why don't you get a 250R.

Don't sell the raptor to get a banshee for mx. If you are going to keep the raptor get wider axle wider A-Arms and some shocks, i love my pep's. If you want the best mx quad sell it and save and buy a new houser frame with a crf 450 motor in it. That would be the best mxer in my opinion.

putting a set of knarly shocks on your raptor is just what the doctor ordered...should you ever decide to pony up and buy a-arms , or a lengthened swing-arm you will need to respring and revalve your shocks. Speaking from experience the raptor handling is affected negativly if you ad an axle and not the a-arms. In the corners the front end wanted to push. Axle and a-arms together...shocks can be done before or after.530-3424216 jason
