nex axle...

i suspect i have a bent axle on my '01 400EX. im not quite sure yet, tomorow im going to prop up the butt end, take off the tires, and spin it around to see if its got a bend in it. if it does, im gonna have to buy a new one, which i really dont have the money for right now. if i get one, i will get either a lonestar +2 or a durablue. the durablue is cheaper, but ive heard it doesnt hold up good. i dont want to spend 400+ $ on an axle, but i may have to. anyone have experience with these? im leaning toward a lonestar unless someone persuades me otherwise.

No Clue eh?! Aparently you need to go to Red Bud track in Mich.(the closest GNC mx to you) Since we started racing the GNC (1996) we have seen many durablue's break. Red Bud is notorius for breaking them.Every year I see riders walking up the hill with 1/2 a durablue in their hand. And yes I do ask them what brand. We run Lonestar axels. My daughter finally bent one at the Budds Creek GNC mx.It will be straightened and sent back to us 100%.
Another problem w/durablues are where the bearings ride. Alot have wore the axel out in this area, come to find out that the warranty does not cover that!
Nice web site <EG> You shure do break alot..

Not only will you eventually break the Durablue (We've broken several before we wised up and bought Lonestar's and RPM's), but they will only warranty the axle one time before they prorate it!!! I had a situation where I broke an axle, sent it back and they covered it. I put the new axle in and it broke in the second turn in practice the next weekend. Then they wanted to charge me for the next one!!! I didn't even jump the quad very high!! (maybe 2 feet of the ground!!!). They wouldn't hear me out, just kept telling me I had to pay for it. In my experience, they break at the retaining clip that holds the locknut.

I have Lonestars in my banshees. I don't think the chrome coating is very good quality, but I am happy with everything else. I will never own a pin drive hub system like some durablues have. Pins wear and break. I am looking at a RPM for the TT bike.
