In Loving Memory Of My Friend Matt Bartosek.
#21
Matt suffered devastating internal injurys as his foot was caught in the nets of his nerf bars. I will never forget talking to Jodi when i went to pick up my motor the Sunday before they left. Jodi was working on Matts bike. The sport suffered a great loss that day and hopefully Matt and his family will forever be remembered. I found out from my friends dad after he got a call from Mark Baldwin amoung others telling him about the accident. We were instantly shocked by the news as Matt was a magnificent rider and sportsman as he proved before our very eyes at Buds Creek. He will be Missed.

I am sorry for your loss, and that of all of Matt's family, friends and fans. I, too, read the article on ATVScene.com when it was first posted and it was truly a tragic event. Since my husband races, this is all too scary and I wish safety for all racers...every rider for that matter. I wish peace for Matt's family and friends.

I thought as time passed this would just get easier, but the loss is more real. Everyone who knew him, knew him not just as the angel everyone remembers now, but the funny, hysterical guy that just never stopped. He loved to smile, to joke around- to be the best.
He always kinda made fun of me... Cause I was just the slow girl in the way on the troubled 250r. Then when I got my cannibal he said I would make Cannondale look bad... But The last time we talked, he said he would help me out at nationals this year... Make sure he taught me all he knew. I pray that he will still help me be the best I can... And watch over us. I miss you. All our love to Debbie, Jodi, Ed, Ann, John, Steve, and Steph.. Im so sorry.

My prayers are with Matt's family. It is truly a terrible thing when anyone dies, but it is apparant that Matt had a talent that not many do. To be known to hang with Jeremiah Jones is a great accomplishment within itself, but to be 19 years old and do it is truly astonishing. It is obvious that Matt loved racing and he passed doing what he loved. I think if it was up to me, I'd rather go racing with Jones than anything else.
