Raptor...Why can't I race it?
Ok, I think I remember your bike then. I was at Nocona but I was to sick to make it to the Athens race. I don't think I'm going to race the TQRA series this year. I'll make a few of the races, but I won't be racing for points. I'm just going to work on racing the Texas Lonestar State Championship Series. Anyways, the most important thing to work on is suspension. Pipe, filter, jet kit, motor work, etc. is nice but won't get you around the track any faster if you don't have the suspension to handle it. Nocona and Athens are two pretty rough tracks (especially Athens) so I'm sure those made you feel pretty out of shape (they'll make almost everyone feel out of shape... everytime I race, I'm reminded of how out of shape I am, lol ). But a-arms, shocks, and an axle would help you out a lot.

I am gonna try and make all the TQRA races this series. So you won't be attending the series opener this weekend? Badlands is another track that I have never ran so I am in for yet another rude awakening. I am heading out to Mossier Valley tomorrow to practice, see if I can't work this spare tire off me. Can you tell me anything about Badlands before I get there? What exactly is the Texas Lonestar Championship Series?

Badlands is a pretty technical track. It's my favorite out of all the tracks I've ridden. None of the jumps are really hard, but it's pretty tight and technical. I haven't been there in a while and he has made some changes so I don't know exactly what the track is like right now.

Kooch, Rus (Badlands MX) is having a quads only practice Thursday night from 6 -9. You could come out and get a feel for the track before the race Sunday. He usually splits the quads up by experience and lets them run about 10 to 15 minute motos during practice. You can check it out at Badlandsmx.com

Thanks for the info guys. I won't be making it out to the track tonight. Went to Mossier Valley last night and snapped my Renthal bars in half. Got bars replaced but the grip glue wo't be dry intime to practice at Badlands. Anyway, I guess I will just have to wing it like the last two times.

The Raptor is definitely worth putting money into for MX racing. My freind races his with +2 a arms, tcs front+rear shocks,loestar2+2 rear axle, and a mildly built motor last year.He says he would like to try a replica honda with a four stroke motor. He says its a little heavy and he might be faster in the corners with something else.I think the more he rides, tunes, adds a few parts he will stay with it.Anyway who is he to complain, it got him the quad expert championship for district 3 in New York.I say keep the raptor I love riding it,can't wait to feel the 686 for this year.
