The Honda lives!!!

I'm really proud of this so I'm gonna post it. (video below) A few guys here have helped me get this thing going. This 4wheeler was given to me by a coworker. It was kept inside and he had it for his grandkids and he didn't use it anymore. So it had sat for 3 or 4 years and he told me to just come get it.
I've had to replace the battery, all four tires, air filter, and rear wheel hub. My son and I did all the work including cleaning the carb, over and over. LOL.
This thing also has a special meaning because the boy you see riding it, is my adopted son. We had two other children, 17 and 14 and we adopted him this year, he's 18. He had lived with us awhile, so we just made it formal and gave him my last name. I thought I was done having kids. ..lol, never say never.
He's an awesome man and son.
This was a thing that we did together, and it was special. My youngest ain't much for fixing stuff..yet, maybe one day though.
Nuff mushy, I just wanted to share this vid I made the other day. He's jumping up and down on it in the beginning, not cranking it. lol.
Good looking/running freebie..eh?

Wow...I'm very humbled.
I would look you in the face and shake your hand, but your not here.
In this busy world full of problems, it is good to see a man's Faith in action in his words in a forum.
Wow..not much more a fella can say.
God bless you and thank you.

Great! That's a cool way to spend time with your newest son. Adoption is such a blessing and to spend that kind of quality time and effort together is priceless. I hope the Lord blesses you with that needed axle.

Thanks folks.
on a similar note, you fixerupers might be interested in.
I have a 1981 Toyota 4WD pickup that I bought new in the fall of 1980, right after graduating highschool. Yes, that makes it AND me an antique I guess.
That truck has been a big part of my life: my wife and my first date to a drive in movie, 4wheeling with my redneck buddies, countless camping trips, transportation though college, you name it. First thing I ever bought and paid for on a loan...@ 17% I might add.
It has been out of commission for many years now and is dilapidated in my barn.
From the time he moved here, my son has wanted to drive it. For various reasons, I've put it off. He mentioned it again the other day, that he promised to take care of it if I'd fix it up for him to drive.
so.....like I need another project...we're about to get that going too. Flat tires, won't crank, etc. But the body is in great shape.
I wouldn't be doing this, cause it is old, and it will cost a lot to fix it up and there's just not a lot of metal between the driver and a big truck like I've got now..Chevy 2500HD..in case he was hit.
But, he's quietly been wanting this and now he's just out with it. LOL. I've seen him around it a lot lately.
So, another chapter for the lil blue truck named Dixie is about to begin as she is resurrected from the Lazarus state she is in now.
And, another chapter in my family as well.
It will take a long time, and more money... but soon, she'll be back on the road again. This time driven by a son I never knew I'd have. He and I will be doing most of the work on it. I gotta find a good pickup restoration forum now I guess. haha
Make some memories with you kids guys...and if they ask, just do it because I'm seeing as mine get older: They might not ask you again. And in the end, the trucks and atvs rust...all you leave are the memories with your kids.
NOTHING Honda here in this reply, but of interest maybe to some.
Gday!

If you want more projects I'm sure we can all find something!!! Great stuff. It's one of the main reasons I got into ATVing. It's a great way to spend time with a teenage son. We still laugh about some of the rides we've been on, gasp in horror at the mention of some of the situations we've been in riding (Biblical flooding rains, Trail of Death, will we have enough gas, etc.) And, along the way it's great to teach responsibilities like riding with respect for landowners and the towns that open trails up, helping out with trail projects to improve the trails we love, helping out fellow riders who are in bad situations, etc.
